Is it possible to have your liver be cancer free then have stage 4 metastatic liver cancer in 2 weeks?

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

My mother passed away from Gallbladder Cancer which spread to her liver last month. Hospital #1 said that they found no masses on her liver. Then 2 weeks later, another hospital- hospital # 2 found Stage 4 metastatic liver cancer and only had weeks to live. Is it possible for cancer to spread that fast to that stage in just 2 weeks?
Please keep in mind her medical report clearly states that there were no masses on her liver.- No abnormalities. Also, I should include that back in March she had upper right abdominal pain. – Which clearly is a symptom of gallbladder cancer. When we went to Hospital #1 in March, and we complained about the pain she was in, all what the hosopital did was give her Tylenol for the pain. They should have done an MRI on the pain. But the ER was too busy to do that test. I remember, I was there. The reason why I am including this is because there is strong evidence of medical neglegence here against Hospital #1.

I am sorry but cancer cannot spread that fast from small undectable lesions to Advanced Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer in just 2 weeks. – Not that fast.
Plus she had tons of masses all over her liver at Stage 4- to have that many masses on her liver in 2 weeks from having no masses is just impossible.
Back in March when my mother had her first UTI- EVER, the report said that the abdomen was checked. However, it did not state the results. That is what we are angry about.

Has anyone ever survived and recovered from metastatic colon cancer?

Friday, July 16th, 2010

In 2002, I had colon cancer, had colon resection surgery, and was on chemo for 6 months. My oncologist told me that if the cancer ever came back it would be fatal. In Aug., 2006, I was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer. It had spread into my liver, and several other areas, and I was prognosed with 6-10 months to live. I was on chemo for 10 months, which reduced the liver cancer, and liver resection surgery was done, removing 40% of my liver. All the other tumors had disappeared. Now it’s in both lungs and abdomen, and I’m back on chemo (Erbotux and Irinotecan). I’m told there is no cure for this.

Does anybody out there know if I have a chance of survival, or have know anyone who has survived metastic colon cancer longer than 5 years?

Thank you so much for your answers.

Is having Hodgkin's Lymphoma and Bone cancer at the same time common?

Monday, June 7th, 2010

I have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma currently and I’ve battled it twice before. I have been in remission after each new occurrence. The Hodgkin’s has come back in my abdomen and is stable. I have recently discovered that I have bone cancer in my leg. This is an entirely new cancer and not metastasized from the other. I am scared. What type of treatment is normal for this type of situation? Am I going to be able to come back from this?
